Amy McLennan is one of Wellington's leading Makeup Artists. Available for shoots, commercials, events, weddings and one-on-one sessions. Specialising in clean beauty - natural, organic & cruelty-free makeup.
It is an absolute privilege to be part of a wedding day. I enjoy the anticipation, the ritual and the expression of love and support that is shown on these special days.
I also get great satisfaction from making-up brides and their entourage. My experience and understanding of what this day means helps brides to feel beautiful and at ease.
I travel nationally and internationally. I can provide organic, natural, vegan, cruelty free ‘clean beauty’ options or commercial makeup options.
Travel fees apply for weddings outside a 20km radius of the Wellington area.
I would recommend a trial, so that we can really understand your needs and get it right for you on the day. Trials start at $150 for make-up only and wedding prices start at $160 for make-up only.
Please contact me for a quote and for availability.
I look forward to being part of your memorable day.
"a massive thank you to Amy for her beautiful work and warm, calming presence. It really was a privilege to meet and have her as the make up artist for the wedding. My mum and sister looked fantastic and I truely felt like a princess."

My first foray into film was working as a junior make-up artist on Peter Jackson's remake of King Kong. This unique learning experience opened my eyes and armed my tool belt for the art of wig work, 1930's hair & make-up and on-set experience.
Since then I have worked on many other New Zealand & International films.
My most memorable jobs have been working on The Hobbit Trilogy, in the deep south on Slow West and the on-set laughs on What We Do In The Shadows.
I continue to work in the industry locally and on location when family life allows it.
I have also worked on some of New Zealand's iconic comedy and drama series such as Go Girls, The Almighty Johnsons and Spartacus.
Most recently I enjoyed joining the team on Wellington Paranormal, a spin-off series from What We Do In The Shadows. No shortage of laughter or night shoots there, and lovely to work on a Wellington based comedy.
Please scroll down to see the films and television series I have been a part of.
My Role on the Hobbit was a Wig & Makeup artist. My Characters included- Fili - Dean O'Gorman, Balin - Ken Stott, Tilda - Mary Nesbitt.

I love the immediacy of working in theatre, it's exciting to stand in the wings and watch a show come to life.
My recent highlights have been, designing and creating the wigs, hair pieces and makeup for The Royal New Zealand Ballet's (RNZB) production of The Sleeping Beauty.
